Men and women of First Presbyterian, New Hope Baptist and men and women from other downtown churches came to one day retreats in the spring led by Louis and Connie Monroe.

Led by the Rev. Monroe, the men gathered to share how men can be witnesses to Christ in this world. The theme of the retreat as “You shall be Witnessed Unto Me”. The group met for breakfast and then worship and discussion followed.

In May Rev. Connie lead a retreat entitled “Sisters on The Journey TOGETHER!!”. The group heard from several members of both churches about the presence of the  Holy Spirit in their lives and how the awareness of the spirit had made a difference in their lives. The women present had a chance to visit with others during the breaks and lunchtime.
