Pastor's Greeting
Greetings from our Pastor, The Rev. Dr. Krista Kiger

Welcome to First Presbyterian Church's web site. We hope you enjoy getting to know our church better as you cruise through our web site. The mission of First Presbyterian Church is to "hold forth the word of life (Philippians 2:16) so that we and future generations may grow, flourish, and experience the love of God through Jesus Christ." I love the word flourish. According to Webster's dictionary, to flourish means to "To blossom, to grow luxuriantly, to thrive, to be prosperous, to make a bold and sweeping movement." The community of First Presbyterian Church is seeking to help all flourish in their relationship with Jesus Christ. We are seeking to help you be connected in a deeper way to the one in whom we live, move, and have our being. You will see that through worshipping, serving, and learning we are hoping you and our community will flourish. This 'bold and sweeping movement' on the part of this church is to not only seek to make sure we flourish, but to seek to help all people who are in any way connected to our church to flourish: the women and their children at the YWCA shelter; homeless people who may stop by for sanctuary, the poor, the oppressed, the widow, the orphan, the down and out, the addicted, those whose lives are defined by racism, sexism, classism, violence, consumerism. The flourishing happens primarily as we seek to be the love of God through Jesus Christ to others. So, come and flourish with us!

Grace and Peace to you - Krista
